Services

I provide private-pay occupational therapy services, offering direct access to personalized care without insurance restrictions. This means flexible scheduling, individualized treatment plans, and comprehensive parent support tailored to your family's unique needs.

Insurance & Reimbursement

While NeuroJoy does not bill insurance directly, we can provide a detailed superbill for families with out-of-network benefits. Many insurance plans offer partial or full reimbursement for occupational therapy services when provided by an out-of-network provider.

Before scheduling, contact your insurance company to verify:

  • Whether you have out-of-network OT benefits

  • Your reimbursement rate and any deductible requirements

  • Whether prior authorization is needed

Independent Educational Evaluation

Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE): Available in Minnesota only (pricing varies based on assessment scope, inquire for more information).

An Independent Educational Evaluation is a comprehensive occupational therapy assessment conducted by a qualified professional outside of the school district. Parents may request an IEE when they disagree with the school's evaluation or need additional objective data about their child's needs.

What's included:

  • I administer comprehensive standardized testing across multiple domains (sensory processing, motor skills, visual-motor integration, adaptive functioning, etc.)

  • Classroom or home observation (when applicable)

  • Parent and teacher interviews

  • Review of educational records and previous evaluations

  • Detailed written report with specific recommendations for school-based services, accommodations, and goals

  • Attendance at IEP meeting to present findings (if requested)

Who pays for IEEs?

  • District-funded: Under federal special education law (IDEA), parents have the right to request an IEE at public expense if they disagree with the school district's evaluation. The district may agree to fund the evaluation or may request a hearing to defend their original assessment. If approved, the district covers the full cost.

  • Parent-funded: Parents can choose to pay privately for an independent evaluation at any time

  • Insurance reimbursement: Some insurance plans with out-of-network benefits may provide partial reimbursement (superbill provided)

Timeline: IEEs typically take 3-4 weeks from initial assessment to final report delivery.

School-Based Advocacy + Support

IEP Meetings, IEP Advocacy, and School-based Consultation: $200/hour
Ideal for parents navigating school services, having trouble understanding their IEP, or advocating for accommodations. I provide support in IEP meetings, review documents, consult with school staff, and help bridge gaps between home and school to ensure your child’s success.

Private Evaluations

Standard Evaluation: $600 A standard evaluation is ideal for families seeking a focused assessment of their child’s primary developmental needs. This evaluation addresses key areas like motor skills, sensory processing, or social-emotional functioning, providing a clear understanding of strengths and challenges. This is the perfect starting point to develop a therapy plan and get your child on the path to progress.

Comprehensive Evaluation: $1200
For families with more complex concerns both at home and at school, a comprehensive evaluation offers an in-depth analysis of your child’s sensory, motor, social-emotional, and academic functioning. This detailed assessment creates a holistic picture of how your child is participating at school and at home, ensuring a holistic plan of care. Ideal for children with multifaceted needs and for families seeking a robust foundation for therapy and collaboration with schools or other specialists.
